"A ship in harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for"
This statement became my credo when I realised I am stuck, I am not developing.
I was born in a small town called Ceadir-Lunga, which is based in the south of a small country called Moldova. A man with big ambitions is grown in environment of small opportunities. Since childhood times I was displaying vivid interest to what is around me, what happens overseas, who is living in 1000 km away. I adored reading books of adventures. My favourite writer was Jules Verne, and his piece "The Mysterious island" The first foreigner I met in my life was a Peace Corps volunteer from Seattle. She was like a magnet for me. I was using my poor level of English I have been learning in school trying to speak out and understand her. The success in that inspired me to enrich my vocabulary in order to be able to express my thoughts as better as possible. Then I met a whole bunch of EVS volunteers. My English has advanced. That was a period of time when I had to decide who I want to become in this life. I graduated lyceum, and entered the closest to my town University. The choice was obvious. I wanted to learn foreign languages. As much languages as possible. After two years of studying I decided to take a break. I left to France to do my own EVS project. Today I have got friends all around the world, from every single country. That year only strengthen my wish to become polyglot. I believe that knowledge is something you can't keep hidden in yourself. Knowledge has to be transmited, otherwise it becomes your curse. The amount of taken should not be bigger of the amount of given. That is why I decided to finish my studies and get the teaching degree. because teaching is an art of giving. In Learning you will teach, in teaching you will learn. - Phil Collins Reflection on teaching: |
